With more than 15 years of experience in adult internal medicine, Dr. Patel brings both extensive knowledge and a personal, compassionate approach to patient care.
He holds dual degrees as a Doctor of Pharmacy and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
Dr. Patel cares for a wide range of adult conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, respiratory and gastrointestinal illnesses, and cardiac risk factors. He has a particular interest in weight management and preventive care, helping patients take proactive steps toward better long-term health.

Fluent in English and Gujarati, and conversational in Hindi, Dr. Patel enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
A longtime Desoto resident, he is actively involved in hospital leadership and community initiatives. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, spending time with his wife and three sons, and sharing his passion for cars with fellow enthusiasts.

Daisy Auma Ogila is a compassionate and thoughtful Physician Assistant who brings fresh knowledge, energy, and deep respect for patient care to GetWell Internal Medicine.
She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Christian Brothers University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Memphis, and she is nationally certified by the NCCPA.
Drawn to internal medicine for its complexity and the opportunity to build lasting relationships, Daisy approaches care like solving a puzzle—every symptom, lifestyle factor, and emotion is a piece of the bigger picture.
She has a special passion for heart health and chronic disease management, believing that small, consistent changes can create a lasting impact.

Daisy’s philosophy of whole-person care blends empathy with evidence-based practice. She takes time to listen, explain options clearly, and involve patients in every step of their journey. Patients appreciate her ability to make complex information approachable and her calm, caring demeanor.
Fluent in English, Swahili, and Luo, Daisy enjoys connecting with people from all backgrounds. She is proud to be part of the Southaven community and values the diversity each patient brings through the door.
Outside the clinic, Daisy enjoys playing pickleball, spending time with friends and family, and experimenting in the kitchen (where no spice rack is ever too full). A dog lover at heart, she shares her home with three pups—and would gladly adopt more if she had the space.
Physician Assistant – Internal Medicine & Urgent Care
Vivek Lakha, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in primary, family medicine, and urgent care. He earned his degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Christian Brothers University and has been practicing for more than four years.
Vivek chose internal medicine because of his passion for building long-term relationships with patients and developing personalized treatment plans that improve quality of life. He enjoys the challenge of managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, as well as guiding patients in preventive care to support long-term health.
His approach to care is patient-centered and built on trust. Vivek focuses on listening first, understanding each patient’s goals and concerns, and partnering with them through shared decision-making. He emphasizes prevention, education, and clear communication to help patients feel comfortable, informed, and empowered in their care.
Fluent in English and Gujarati, Vivek brings both cultural understanding and medical expertise to his work. His own experiences caring for loved ones with chronic illness have shaped his compassionate approach, reminding him of the importance of empathy, respect, and continuity of care.
Outside of the clinic, Vivek enjoys weightlifting, spending time outdoors, cooking, and exploring new recipes. Most importantly, he loves quality time with his wife, son, friends, and family. He is also active in local cultural gatherings and values the close-knit spirit of the Southaven community, where he feels privileged to care for patients across all stages of life.
